PaukSe & Palata: A Special Celebration Of Burmese Tea Shop Specialties

Two of the undeniable stars of Yangon’s tea shops are PaukSe (steamed buns) and Palata (flaky flatbread), which are torn apart by hand, dipped into aromatic curries, and savored slowly. Burma Burma invites you to experience a unique look into Burma’s tea shops this August, where these cherished breads are shared over endless cups of tea and lengthy conversations.
From August 1–31, 2026, Burma Burma’s restaurants in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Hyderabad will host PaukSe & Palata: Windows to Burma, a limited-edition menu honoring Burmese tea shop culture. Bringing the coziness of Burma’s tea shops home is now simpler than ever thanks to its availability for home delivery via Swiggy and Zomato.
This offering requires no excuse or occasion—just an appetite for a passport-free getaway to a brand-new location—whether it’s a hectic group catch-up, a rainy day at home when you just want to order in, or one of those rare days that only carbs can fix. This limited-edition menu, which is available from August 1 to August 31, offers three distinctive Paukse (steamed buns), four mouthwatering Palata (flatbreads) with curries, delectable desserts, and of course, traditional Burmese pulled teas and house-made sodas. This is your opportunity to experience the essence of Burma’s tea shops. Tea shops are much more than just places to get a cup of tea in Burma. They are vibrant local establishments that are interwoven with daily life.

These busy places brought people together over endless cups of tea and irresistible bites long before they became places to work or meet. Everyday life unfolded over shared meals, conversations flowed freely, strangers became regulars, and different ideas came together at the same table. The menu offers a delectable window into Burma’s rich culinary heritage while celebrating two of the nation’s most beloved indigenous breads. It was inspired by the culinary team’s ongoing visits to tea shops and street-side stalls.
On offer are dishes like Tofu & Scallion Twist, PaukSe Burger, Spicy Curry Buns, Tea Break Palata, Sunday Curry Palata, OG Burmese Taco, Palata Sando, Tea Shop Cream Puff, Nutty Banana Sundae, Pistachio & Saffron Pulled Tea, Cinnamon Spice Pulled Tea, Sea Salt Honeycomb, Jasmine Rice & Brown Sugar, and BB House Cola.
