The Builders’ Association of India (BAI), Eastern (Kolkata) Centre, marked Engineers’ Day 2026 at the Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata, honoring the vital role played by engineers, contractors, and professionals in advancing the nation’s infrastructure.

The event was graced by Shri Tathagata Roy, Ex-Governor of Tripura; Dr. Ajoy Kumar Podder, Hon’ble Minister, PWD & PHE; Shri Dilip Ghosh, Hon’ble Minister, Panchayat & Rural Development; and Papiya Adhikary, MLA, Tollygunge Constituency.

A key feature of the celebration was honoring Executive Engineers, Chief Engineers, and senior engineering officials from various government departments, such as PWD, CPWD, Metro Rail, and other infrastructure agencies. The felicitation acknowledged their committed service and role in advancing infrastructure development.

The programme also included a review of BAI and its role in the construction and infrastructure sector, presented by distinguished members. The event also offered a forum to address challenges encountered by contractors, such as outstanding payments and other matters impacting the timely completion of infrastructure projects. BAI stressed the importance of productive collaboration between the government and the industry to address these issues and guarantee that current and future infrastructure projects proceed without disruption.

Engineers’ Day was celebrated on September 15 to honor the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, the renowned engineer, visionary, and statesman whose enduring legacy continues to inspire future generations.

The event highlighted BAI’s continued dedication to acknowledging the essential contributions engineers have made to the physical and economic development of the state and the nation.

The Engineers’ Day celebration underscored BAI Eastern (Kolkata) Centre’s dedication to collaborating closely with the government, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to enhance infrastructure and support the broader goal of nation-building.
