ITC Royal Bengal and ITC Sonar introduced A Box of Mango Marvels which is dedicated to Kolkata.

Mangoes define this season in Bengal, which has a long history of royal patronage that included horticulture and grafting new varieties to grow new favorites. The Nawab of Murshidabad introduced Begum Pasand, Rani Pasand, and several other varieties of the fruit into his orchards, and this region alone boasts over 100 different varieties of the fruit.

The Box of Mango Marvels celebrates a variety of summer traditions. During this season, golden mangoes ripen on the trees and grace the dining tables of every household with their sweetness. Its pulp is extracted and used to flavor a variety of foods, including ice cream, mishti, and biscuits, as well as juice. The ‘war’ between sweet Himsagar and tangy Langra is common, and it has been known to disrupt the peace in otherwise peaceful Bengali households – over which is the best in taste!
