To raise awareness about kidney health and the prevention of chronic kidney disease, the Kidney Care Society organized a Scientific Symposium on World Kidney Day 2026 in collaboration with Nephrocare India, one of the most prestigious kidney care facilities in the nation.

The program was in line with the global theme of World Kidney Day, which is Kidney Health for All – Caring for People, Protecting the Planet. The symposium’s goal was to inform the general public and medical professionals about kidney disease prevention, early diagnosis, and comprehensive treatment. Leading nephrologists and medical professionals convened at the event to discuss crucial aspects of kidney health, such as controlling creatinine levels, postponing dialysis, redefining CKD care, and lifestyle modifications to enhance kidney function.

Gracing the event were Dr. Pratim Sengupta, Prof. Dilip Baidya, Dr. Tathagata Mukherjee, Dr. Sourav Sadhukhan, Dr. Prabhav Bansali, and Mr. Subhabrata Bhattacharjee.

Nephrologist Dr. Pratim Sengupta, founder and director of Nephrocare, said, “Kidney disease is often referred to as a silent killer, so raising awareness about kidney health is extremely important. The burden of chronic kidney disease can be greatly decreased by early diagnosis and preventive treatment. Serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, and glomerular filtration rate are examples of routine kidney function tests that can help identify kidney issues early and enable prompt treatment”.
