A Special Fair On Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee’s 30th Anniversary

Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee (DMSC) announced on their 30th anniversary that they will be organizing a four-day fair and festivities at Rabindra Kanan, Rabindra Sarani, Kolkata.
Durbar means unstoppable in Bengali. Durbar has faced many challenges since its inception in 1995. However, they have become a shining example for sex workers across the country and also for sex workers globally.
The inauguration of this initiative will take place on 12th July at 11 am. The inauguration will be graced by 30 sex workers from Kolkata and other parts of Bengal.
This four-day fair will celebrate the life and livelihood of the community and invite people from the society to join in.
Eminent speakers from all walks of life will participate in important panel discussions. There will be fashion shows by transgender people and sex workers. Apart from this, there will be cultural programs, fun games for the community and their kids, and also showing their handicraft and culinary skills at different stalls.
Celebrities from all walks of life will be gracing the events on different days.
Along with Durbar, this initiative will be presented by Grinning Tree, a city-based ad agency.
This fair will take place from 12th to 15th July, 2025, from 2 pm to 8 pm.
