The enthusiastic 7th and 8th graders from Douglas Memorial Higher Secondary School-Barrackpore were overcome with emotions, enthusiasm, and confessions as they participated in Bobby Chakraborty‘s worldwide, free, award-winning, preventive awareness program, “I AM THE KING OF MY MIND”. It was the most memorable experience of their lives.

For the past 20 years, Bobby, a well-known actor, activist, and method acting instructor from Kolkata, India, has been leading these impactful and engaging adda sessions all over the world, giving kids the mental tools they need to combat addictions like smoking, drinking, and smartphones, as well as negative social trends like abusive language, online obscenity for attention, online gambling through games, bullying, ragging, and more.

The 1st Soldier, Mainak Shil (8), helped active soldier Srija Mondal (8), who served as the official photographer for the brilliant session. Soldier Agnik Roy (8), who was also one of the most engaged kids in the session, received the additional ceremonial title of The Trendsetter. The soldier Arnab was named Best Friend.

Bobby made the lesson engaging for the pupils with the use of interactive activities and social experiments with soldiers Dhruv and Ritushree. Joyeeta Dutta (Senior Coordinator) duly acknowledged this in her vote of gratitude.

Soldiers Ayantika Sarkar, Ahijit Saha, and Shrestha Das won the final surprise competition. Their cherished Bobbydada presented them with special awards, personalized soldiers’ t-shirts, and certificates of community service, along with Srija.

Bobby did a great job working with the socially conscious school administrator, Ashwin Kumar Medidi, the Principal Sonia Gidla Medidi, and Arpita Basu, the event coordinator, to help their students live healthy, productive lives away from the dark side of society as they grow up.
