A Unique Musical Medical Camp Organized In Behala

On April 6, 2025, the Balananda Brahmachari Hospital in Behala hosted a musical medical camp that had never been held before. It started at 10.30 in the morning and ended at 3 in the afternoon! There were about 120 names on file for people who came to use the services, which included radiography, blood pressure checks, eye and dental exams, blood tests, and consultations with doctors. And the best part is that they were all free.

Gracing the event was the President of the Hospital, Tanmoy Roy Chowdhury (an IPS officer) & Hony. secretary.

During this time, there were also live performances of classical music. Artists like IPS officer cum an artist Indrajit Basu (flute), Banani Das (santoor), Souporno Ghosh (violin), Debanjan Bhattacharjee (Sarode), a bank manager cum performer Pandit Ashim Chowdhury (sitar) took part. Bivash Sanghai, Samir Nandy, and Nabagata Bhattacharjee gave suitable accompaniment.

All of these pieces of music were played in the rooms where the consultations and tests were conducted. Additionally, food arrangements were there at no cost. 

This event was the brainchild of Pt. Samar Saha, a tabla maestro.
