Aakash Aath organized the set visit of Indira which is based on a story by eminent Bengali author Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. Indira will be aired under the Ek Masher Sahitya series that Aakash Aath airs.

Indira’s father-in-law sends a palanquin to take back Indira to her in-laws place. Indira was not staying at her in-laws place because her husband was not capable of taking care of his wife. He was not financially stable. But now that he has become financially stable, his father had sent the palki for Indira. If Indira will not go back, then her father-in-law will again organize his son’s wedding. Indira gets ready to go back to her in-laws place. The palanquin bearers were told to cross a place named Kalidighi fast as that was the place for notorious dacoits. However the bearers become exhausted and they take time to rest. As a result dacoits attack them and take away Indira’s jewelry and Benrasi sari. What happens to Indira?

Soumi plays the role of Indira. “I was very excited when I got this role. But I was also concerned as to how the people will react as this role has been essayed by Aparna Sen. So I am very tensed and until the telecast is done, I am not sure as to how the people will react to my acting” said the actress.

Director Debidas Bhattacharya is directing Indira. He had earlier directed Ranur Protham Bhag for Aakash Aath too.

Arya who plays the role of Indira’s husband said “I have worked with Debi da before hand too. He is like the head of the family. He will scold you but you know that it is for your own betterment only. And moreover working in such a series which is based on such a great story gives me immense pleasure. I know comparisons will be made with the film, but I hope that we have done enough to live up to the expectations of the audience”.

Debidas Bhattacharya on asked why he chose to direct Indira said “I have always kept in mind certain facts when I decide to do a series on Aakash Aath. Firstly I see how the story will comply with the needs of the channel and secondly I see how the story helps in spreading some message to the people. It is not merely for the purpose of entertainment that we do these series.”.

Soumi Chakraborty, Swagata Basu, Ishita Chatterjee, Subhashis Banerjee, Arya Chandra, Sougata Sarkar, Bindiya and Shyamal Chakraborty and others will be seen in pivotal roles in Indira.

Indira will be aired in the month of November, Monday to Saturday at 7 pm only on Aakash Aath.
