Filmmaker Abhik Bhanu is elated as his book titled ‘Stool Piegon’ has won ‘Book of the Year Award’ at the recently concluded prestigious ‘Dada Saheb Phalke Award’.

Abhik Bhanu’s ‘Stool Piegon’ is based on street kids who belong to poor financial background and beg for living on streets and traffic signals.

Talking about his award winning book, Abhik said that getting the award as a writer was a huge honour for him. As a writer he got the award, so they must have realized that through this book, his voice and those kids voices, will probably reach the ears of politicians, who are working relentlessly in making these street kids life worse.

Abhik is planning to make a film on same subject. Now that the book has won an award, people tend to take award winning books seriously and films are such a strong medium.

Filmmaker Abhik is an avid writer and shared details about his next book. This is his second book, the first one was titled ‘Dark Rainbow’ and his next book is ‘Blind Faith’.
