Music director Indraadip Dasgupta turned director with his debut film Kedara. The trailer and poster of the film were unveiled by Abir Chatterjee in the august presence of the director and the cast and crew of the film.

The film’s story revolves around the dying art form of ventriloquism. This film is a glowing tribute to this art form. The story shows a feeble man, Narasingha who lives alone in his ancestral house. He is separated from his wife and lives alone in the house. No one mixes with him much and as a result he strikes up fictional conversation with people from his past. Junk dealer Keshto presents him with an armchair and this act as a catalyst to bring a change in his personality.

Kaushik Ganguly, Rudranil Ghosh, Bidipta Chakraborty and others will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.

Kaushik Ganguly was full of praises for the debutant director. “I have never taken him seriously as a director. However after I read the script and what he said during shot taking, convinced me about his ability as a director. He had been handling so many musicians together. So he had the innate ability to control things which became evident during the film. He also did not make a film on the common boy meets girl romance. He showcased a slice of life in his debut film” said Kaushik Ganguly.

Speaking about her role in the film, Bidipta Chakraborty said “Indraadip called me up one day and said that he was directing a film and I had to do a small role. I was not sure how well he will direct but I was a fan of his music and I agreed to do the film as a fan. However after the film was made, that I realized how well it has been made”.

The script and dialogues are by Srijato. The music is by Arijit Singh. The film is presented by Samiran Das and the film is produced by Kaleidoscope.

The film has been screened in the competition section in many film festivals like 24^th Kolkata International Film Festival, Madrid Asia International Film Festival, 6^th Edition of Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival, 3^rd Bengaluru Bengali Kannada Film Festival 2019 and others.

Indraadip Dasgupta while addressing the press said that he will be making only those films which tell stories of common individuals. The day he will feel that he had no new story to share, he will stop making films.

Abir Chatterjee also praised the director for making such a commendable film. “When the film was being screened, the reaction from the audience was very positive. When he was making the film, we were all very hopeful. But after seeing the reaction of the audience, we were confirmed that his hard work paid off” said the actor.

The film is eyeing for release on 1^st November.
