A glimpse into the world of the upcoming romantic comedy Alaap, starring Mimi Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee, has been unveiled in the much-anticipated official motion poster. Premendu Bikash Chaki is the director of this film, which looks to be a fun exploration of the intricacies of contemporary relationships.

The three main characters of “Alaap” are employed by various IT businesses and are identified as Pablo Majumdar (Abir Chatterjee), Aditi Mitra (Mimi Chakraborty), and Swatilekha Sen (Swastika Dutta). Their paths cross in the workplace, setting off a sequence of events that, via a touching romantic comedy, reveal the complexities of relationships and commitment concerns.

Speaking about her experience working with Abir Chatterjee, Mimi Chakraborty said, “Abir da is like my family. We share a great space. Abir da was there for me when I didn’t know anyone in the business. I can talk to Abir da about everything and everything.”

“This is an interesting old-school romantic story. How Chaki da conveys a tale is distinct, and he is an underappreciated director. As a DOP, Chaki da and I have collaborated for over two decades. Chaki da had offered Mimi and me a movie together ten or twelve years ago, but it never got made. At last, it is taking place. It’s a charming and enjoyable tale of love” said Abir Chatterjee.

The film’s theme is encapsulated in the motion poster, which also highlights the chemistry between Mimi Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee, the leading duo.

“The film shows that Bhalolaga and Bhalobasha are two different things, and the main USP of the story is that the hero and heroine never realize their true feelings until towards the end of the film,” said director Premendu Bikash Chaki.

“Alaap” aims to offer a novel perspective on love, friendship, and self-exploration by presenting the fundamental aspects of relationships in a playful yet profound way.

Alaap will release on 26th April 2024.
