The premiere for director Atanu Bose’s film Achena Uttam took place in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

The cast and the crew of the film were welcomed to the rhythmic beats of the Dhak. The whole atmosphere at the premiere show was full of Bangaliana.

The movie showcases the life of Uttam Kumar. It will begin straight from childhood, show the ups and downs of the star’s life and also throw light on many unknown facets of his life.

Saswata Chatterjee plays Mahanayak Uttam Kumar, and Tirtharaj Bose plays the young Uttam Kumar. The characters played by the other actors in the film are mentioned below.

“Good research has been done by the team of the film. There will be appreciation and criticism for a film. But the effort by the entire team is commendable. Apu da (Saswata Chatterjee) has done a fantastic role in the film. The audience must come to the halls and show their appreciation for Bengali films” said Rituparna Sengupta.

Saswata Chatterjee said that he never thought that he will do a biopic on Uttam Kumar. However, he took the challenge and thought that he will be remembered either for portraying Uttam Kumar in an excellent manner or for portraying him in the worst way possible. Either way, he will be remembered by the audience.

The movie is being produced by Alaknanda Arts & Shank Entertainment.

The film is running on single screens and multiplexes in Kolkata.
