Adamas University Hosts International Conference On Inclusive Education
Adamas University‘s School of Education started its two-day Annual Flagship Event, named EDUCLAVE 2022. The role of inclusive education in building a better society for the future is the focus of Educlave.
The numerous components of inclusive education, its dimensions, and topics related to inclusion were discussed in depth. The conference was inaugurated by Naveen Das, Vice Chancellor, Adamas University, and Shauli Mukherjee, Director, School of Education and Associate Dean, School of Liberal Arts and Culture Studies, Adamas University in the presence of the delegates.
Keynote speeches were delivered by Nihad Bunar, Professor, Department of Special Education, Stockholm University, and Jari Linikko, Director of Studies, Department of Special Education, Stockholm University.
Nihad spoke regarding inclusive education for immigrants and refugees. He contended that kids need access to formal education as well as other flexible educational options. Jari spoke about the various aspects of inclusive education, including the physical, social, psychological, and cognitive ones. He also discussed the rules for students who require extra assistance as well as the many challenges they confront.
A Panel Discussion on “Inclusive Environment” held another distinctive angle for exploration in this conference. The panelists for the forum were: Mina Sedem, Director of Studies, Department of Special Education, Stockholm University, Khaleda Gani Dutt, Senior Lecturer, Department of Special Education, Stockholm University, Elizabeth Ann Adams Lyngbäck, Senior Lecturer, Department of Special Education, Stockholm University and Helen Knutes Nyqvist, Senior Lecturer, Department of Special Education, Stockholm University.
The principal issues discussed in the panel were “Inclusive Environments”, “Intergenerational and lifelong learning” and “Social justice”.
The highlighting moment of the conference comes with a Ramp Show by the special children. Swati Chakraborty, Deputy Director, Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy who is an Assistive Technologist & Film Maker also took part in this conference and has shared her views on the same.
