With the signing of a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Alliance Française du Bengale (AFdB) announced a cooperation with Techno India University (TIU), West Bengal. This collaboration marks the opening of the Salt Lake Annex of Alliance Française du Bengale, which is situated on the Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL) campus, to enhance the bilateral language and cultural cooperation between the French and Indian people in the Great Eastern Region of India.

The signing ceremony was held at Alliance Francaise du Bengale in the gracious presence of Mr. Nicolas Facino, Director-Alliance Francaise du Bengale, and Mr. Meghdut Roychowdhury, Executive Director & Chief Innovation Officer- Techno India University, West Bengal.

By establishing the “Franco-Indian Centre of Excellence for Language and Culture,” the Memorandum of Understanding seeks to create a singular endeavor that will advance French language and culture while fostering scholarly exchanges between France and India. Annexes devoted to providing French language instruction will be established as a result of the partnership at three strategic locations: Techno Main Salt Lake, Techno India University, and other TIU group schools.

Every Saturday and Sunday, the Salt Lake Annex will provide French classes for adults and children. The public, as well as TIU/TMSL students, may enroll in these courses, with TIU/TMSL students receiving a special discount.

Mr. Meghdut Roychowdhury, Executive Director & Chief Innovation Officer- Techno India University, West Bengal said, “This partnership is a significant step in the right direction toward developing a global perspective in our educational ecosystem. We are expanding our students’ linguistic horizons and cultivating a genuine sense of global cooperation by bringing the rich legacy of French language and culture closer to them and the community. Because my wife, Pauline, is French, and I studied at HEC Paris, this connection is especially meaningful to me because it integrates a beloved aspect of our life into the core of our academic community”.

The opening of the Salt Lake Annex is a testament to the long-standing collaboration between Techno India University in West Bengal and Alliance Française du Bengale, strengthening the ties between France and India in terms of education and culture.
