Airtel introduced its cutting-edge Fraud Alert, an AI-powered service that provides consumers with real-time protection against the rapidly increasing threat of One-Time-Password (OTP)-related bank frauds, as part of its continued efforts to tackle the threat of spam.

Fraudsters take advantage of the urgency that is frequently connected to OTPs for routine services like delivery, tricking clients into divulging banking transaction OTPs, and putting their account savings at danger.

Such potentially dangerous circumstances are recognized by Airtel’s new AI-powered system, which alerts the affected clients. Every time a bank OTP is found during a potentially dangerous incoming call, Airtel steps in and warns the consumer about the possibility of consenting to the delivery of a banking transaction OTP while they are still on the call. This potent combination of AI-driven intelligence and human judgment efficiently closes the gap that scammers exploit by giving consumers the critical time they need to consider, confirm, and maintain strong control over their security.

To prevent fraud at its source, Airtel has implemented AI-powered, tech-led protections like harmful link-blocking and spam-call warnings during the last two years. Even though it has made significant progress in reducing fraud on its network, scammers have persisted in using social engineering and impersonation to take advantage of human weaknesses. This innovative function, which is intended to safeguard mobile phone users, is an additional measure to safeguard its clients against online fraud.
