Aitijhya Beche Thakuk As Theme Of Bhowanipur 75 Palli In 2022
Bhowanipur 75 Palli has always presented different themes in their Durga Puja. This year, the Puja committee will focus on the theme ‘Aitijhya Beche Thakuk’ – ‘Let the Heritage Live’.
With this theme, they want to show the rich culture of West Bengal for their 58th year of Durga Puja.
‘Aitijhya Beche Thakuk’ – ‘Let the Heritage Live’will be created by renowned artist Prashant Pal.
Bengal’s culture has always been rich and this is evident through paintings and arts. Pot Shilpo or Pot Art has been acknowledged all over the world. this art is linked to different areas in Bengal.
Through their art, Pot artists used to narrate unknown or unheard stories from epics and other such sources. With the help of their Pattachitra, the beauty of many homes in Bengal was enhanced. However, its popularity has faded over time. This art is almost extinct in the city. It can be found in some villages like Pingla, Nayagram, in Medinipur district.
At Pingla village in West Midnapore, a Patachitra Folk Art Centre has been developed as part of Rural Crafts Hubs, a project supported by Unesco and the department of micro, small and medium enterprises and textiles, Government of West Bengal.
The puja committee members hope that the Potshilpa will win the hearts of people and will be appreciated and accepted by one and all.
