Nikita Mhaisalkar presented a symphony of exquisite feminine fashion during Lakmé Fashion Week in collaboration with FDCI. It was set in the exotic, tranquil solitude of nature and was titled “Tropical Times”. The warm summer months encouraged Nikita to design in a more original manner.

The flora gave the designer additional creative inspiration as she came up with a collection of garments in colors dark brown, tan, and terracotta.

Nikita presented hints of the Amazonian jungle to the outfits, adding a line of dramatic detailing.

The intricate form and structure of the hand embroidery revealed the layered, finely detailed beauty of the clothes with nature. The collection consisted of perfect resort wear with hints of sari components, yet the silhouettes maintained true to the concept and elegantly transitioned into ultra-glamorous evening dress in forms that without a question, they stole the show.

The four men’s entries included a selection of formal, sports, and casual clothing in a variety of colors. While a long trench coat, baggy pants, and a colorful shirt were worn with a patterned suit, Athleisure co-ord set, printed robe, large jacket, comfortable tunic, and Bermuda shorts completed the look.

Alaya F concluded the performance in a micro mini with shimmering, halter construction.

The “Tropical Times” line, which Nikita featured, is geared toward the influential world traveler.

Mhaisalkar is a fantastic, multipurpose alternative for a vacation wardrobe.
