“Almonds Make For A Healthy & Tasty Snack”-Soha Ali Khan
“We have been eating almonds from a very young age. My mother incorporated this habit in us. As a result, I have passed this habit on to my daughter as well. She knows that if she wants to eat any snack before going to bed, she can eat only almonds. It is very vital that we as parents tell our children about healthy snacking habits” said Soha Ali Khan.
The actress was in Kolkata to attend the panel discussion on Snack Smart For A Healthier Family and Stronger Immunity.
Gracing the panel discussion were Yasmin Karachiwala, celebrity pilates master instructor, and Ritika Samaddar, Regional Head of Diabetics at Max Healthcare, New Delhi.
Ritika Samaddar said “I must highlight one thing. Almonds are a superfood. But anything good should not be consumed in huge quantities. A handful of almonds a day is the right amount to be consumed. If one consumes more than a handful, the person might experience some other problems. hence sticking to the right portion is very vital”.
Soha Ali Khan mentioned that she consumes almonds in between meetings and hectic schedules. “I try not to be hangry and consume things that will harm my health. For this very reason, I keep almonds with me. It is a healthy snacking option and keeps me full. As a result, my hunger pangs are resolved and I do not gorge on anything detrimental to my health” said the actress.
The actress also mentioned that she made almond cakes, and almond milk for her daughter so that she could eat almonds in different ways and not get bored of the food.
Yasmin Karachiwala highlighted she had to work often for seven to eight hours at a stretch. “I often have to work for long periods. So what do I do when I am hungry? We do not have the time to sit and eat a normal meal. Eating almonds is a good option. Had I consumed non-vegetarian food items, someone might have disliked the smell. But almonds do not have such a smell and hence I can eat without any tension” said Yasmin.
In conclusion, the panelists stressed the fact that almonds are a great snacking option. It is healthy, and tasty and keeps one fuller for a long period. Eating in the right amount will be indeed helpful for an individual.
