Rajeev Singh(Director – ICC), Asif Iqbal (President of Indian Economic Trade Organization), Pradeep Sureka (President – ICC & MD, Sureka Group), H.E Mr.  Alejandro Simancas Marin (Ambassador of Cuba to India), Naresh Juneja (Consul for Cuba LACFI Chairman, JC Fenasia Group of Industries), Kalyan Kar (Executive Committee Member – ICC & Co-Founder & Director, InQube Innoventures Private Limited) graced the interactive session to improve the bilateral relationship between Cuba and India.

At an interactive session hosted by the Indian Chamber of Commerce, H.E. Mr. Alejandro Simancas Marin, the Cuban ambassador to India, said “The two nations’ relations have never been tense, and we expect them to get better over the next few years. We want more Indian capital to invest in Cuba.” The focus of the conversation was on strengthening the bilateral ties between India and Cuba. The topic of various collaborations between the two countries’ various sectors was also raised.

Asif Iqbal, the Indian Economic Trade Organization’s president, said during the discussion “It would be advantageous for bilateral relations to place more emphasis on the health sector. From India to Cuba, we are constantly looking for new investment opportunities. Additionally helpful in this endeavor has been ICC.”

India and Cuba have extensive political ties, according to Pradeep Sureka, President of the ICC and MD of the Sureka Group. “Since both countries stand to gain more from this friendship, we as a chamber look forward to developing this relationship. Additionally, India has provided Cuba with six lines of credit (LOC) totaling USD 248 million for power, wind energy, and fertilizers. India had provided USD 100 million to help with food grain shortages there. In 2021, there was 21.28 million in bilateral trade between the two countries” added Pradeep Sureka.
