Through programs like the After School Program, Ambuja Cements, the cement and building material company of the diverse Adani Portfolio, is dedicated to developing athletic talent across the country. This dedication is paying off, as seven pupils from Chandrapur schools sponsored by Ambuja Cements have qualified for the next state-level athletics tournament in Pune. They competed in a variety of sports at the district-level athletics tournament, including shot putt, high jump, long jump, and javelin throw, as part of a contingent of 17 student-athletes.

These student-athletes, who were from schools in Chandrapur’s core villages and backed by Ambuja Cements, won 12 championship titles overall. In certain events, they even took the top two slots. This accomplishment is a testament to the commitment and diligence of the children who have been training assiduously under the Ambuja Cements After School Program. The program’s goal is to develop the country’s future sports talent. It supports the kids’ participation in district, block, and state-level sports contests and provides them with a variety of forms of encouragement.

Additionally, the After School Program supports students who play sports including badminton, kho-kho, and kabaddi. Notably, several pupils from schools with help have also been chosen for Khelo India competitions. Along with these advancements, all students in Chandrapur and Ambujanagar schools are now required to complete self-defense classes, with an emphasis on female students’ protection.

Ambuja Cements expanded its sports marketing campaign by starting the After School Program in Chandrapur, Darlaghat, and Bathinda. With an emphasis on student-athletes with promising futures in sports, this program seeks to recognize and develop emerging talent by providing specialized sports instruction and assistance. This is a testament to Ambuja Cements’ consistent support for sports development and promotion across the nation.
