An Excellent Start To The 59th Garment Meet & B2B Expo

The 59th Garment Meet and B2B Expo, which will take place over three days from January 5–7, 2026, in Science City, Kolkata, in an area of two lac square feet, will bring the West Bengal garment industry to life. The West Bengal Garment Manufacturers and Dealers Association (WBGMDA), which has played a crucial role in the sector for 61 years, is organizing this event, which is anticipated to generate substantial commercial opportunities. This 59th Garment Buyers & Sellers Meet & B2B Expo is expected to generate commercial dealings worth approximately Rs. 1500 crore in the wholesale market, with over 1000 national and international brands showcasing a wide selection of readymade garments for kids, men, and women.
The State Government’s attendance, along with significant businesspeople and corporate houses, highlighted the event’s importance for the state’s economy and the importance of the Association’s efforts to strengthen it.

The event was inaugurated by Sri. Sujit Bose, Minister of State for Fire, Govt. of WB, Sri. Atin Ghosh, Deputy Mayor of Kolkata, Smt. Rehana Khatun, Councillor & Borough Co-ordinator, Sri. Hari Kishan Rathi, President of WBGMDA, Sri. Vijay Kariwala, Senior Vice President of WBGMDA, Sri. Pradeep Murarka, Vice President of WBGMDA, Sri. Devendra Baid, Hon. Secretary and Sri. Manish Agarwal, executive committee member of WBGMDA, and many others.

Hari Kishan Rathi, President of West Bengal Garment Manufacturers & Dealers Association, stated, “The 59th Garment Buyers & Sellers Meet & B2B Expo is evidence of the West Bengal garment industry’s tenacity, resiliency, and increasing worldwide significance. Over the years, WBGMDA has stayed dedicated to developing significant business platforms that link customers, sellers, and manufacturers both domestically and internationally. With more than 1,000 brands participating, this year’s exhibition not only solidifies Kolkata‘s standing as a major hub for clothing sourcing but also greatly boosts the state’s economy and job creation”.

By combining retail and wholesale trade, the 59th edition’s organizers hope to transcend conventional B2B interaction and build a more inclusive ecosystem.
