GLF Business School successfully hosted its yearly flagship international conference, AI Horizons 2025, in partnership with the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), West Bengal Regional Branch. The conference, which had as its central theme “Co-creating the Future”, brought together academics, researchers, policymakers, business executives, and innovators to discuss the quickly changing role of AI in influencing society, business, and governance.

Prof. Avijit Banerjee, Director of GLF Business School, emphasized in his Theme Address the critical need for cooperation among government, business, and academia to create an inclusive, moral, and sustainable AI-powered future. Speaking to the audience, Prof. Banerjee pointed out that artificial intelligence has become more than just a fad in technology; it is now the distinguishing feature of the modern period. AI has permeated every aspect of daily life, from manufacturing and banking to healthcare, education, governance, and the creative sectors, as well as ordinary household applications.

He noted that its impact and scope are unparalleled. He emphasizes the idea that governments, businesses, academics, researchers, start-ups, and society at large will all work together to determine AI’s future rather than just engineers. In order to guarantee that AI develops as a force for fair growth and society’s well-being, he advocates for cooperation, a common vision, ethical duty, and inclusive involvement. This change has been expedited by the rise of Generative AI, which has democratized access to cutting-edge technology by making complex technologies accessible, affordable, and inclusive. Students, small business owners, startups, and regular people can now access cutting-edge AI capabilities for the first time, greatly reducing obstacles to innovation and involvement in the digital economy.

AI is changing how governments function and engage with citizens in the areas of governance and public service delivery. AI is promoting accountability, efficiency, and transparency at scale through everything from automated grievance redressal and improved delivery of healthcare and welfare programs to predictive analytics in policymaking and smart urban systems.

A paradigm shift is also taking place within the academic and scientific sectors. AI is changing teaching and learning approaches, facilitating multidisciplinary research, and speeding up scientific discovery. In addition to providing academics with data-driven insights and assisting educators in creating individualized learning experiences, generative AI is educating students for a future in which human-AI collaboration will be essential to career success.

AI is no longer the sole purview of big businesses for industry and small enterprises. The use of AI-enabled solutions in marketing, operations, customer support, finance, and product creation is growing among small and medium-sized businesses. This change is boosting output, encouraging creativity, and empowering companies to successfully compete in international marketplaces.

The start-up ecosystem exhibits a particularly disruptive effect. AI has greatly reduced the hurdles to entry for innovation, allowing start-ups to create prototypes, analyze markets, connect with clients, and quickly scale ideas with little funding. India’s thriving startup scene is set to ride a new wave of AI-driven growth, giving young people, techies, and entrepreneurs the chance to rethink solutions for pressing problems.

AI Horizons 2025 offered a crucial forum for idea sharing, opportunity exploration, problem solving, and creating a common future roadmap as the world approaches an amazing digital era. The conference reiterated GLF Business School’s and its partners’ dedication to promoting communication and cooperation that guarantees artificial intelligence helps humanity in the most significant and revolutionary way. A call to study, develop, and co-create a future where AI really empowers society was issued as the event came to a close.
