Ananjan Chakraborty, son of the renowned classical vocalist Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, is an award-winning sound engineer, music producer, and composer. He used a traditional thumri in his much-anticipated Indian mashup cover of Justin Bieber’s song “Lonely.” Along with the other cast and crew members from the music video, renowned music personality Ujjaini Mukherjee attended the formal music release ceremony.

The Indian Mashup was performed by well-known playback singer Madhuraa Bhattacharya, and the Thumri was performed by Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty student and young classical vocalist Bitan Das. In this project, Ananjan also contributed an Alap.

The note combination or basic tune of this melody, which bears striking resemblance to a Raga called “Kaushidhwani” of the North Indian Classical Music, inspired me to create an Indian mash-up cover of this particular song. Ananjan expressed his hope that the viewers and listeners would applaud all of our efforts put into this presentation.

Speaking at the occasion, Ujjaini said “I was a student of Shrutinandan many years ago. And to come back here for the music video launch was like coming back to the roots. I am happy that Ananjan has been taking steps to bring about changes in the independent music scenario”.

This song will tell the story of unending love and devotion. It is a fictionalized telling of a true story based on Ananjan Chakraborty’s own experiences. It will relate to the story of his love and the devastation he felt when his lifelong partner left him for another man and his path in life changed.

In the music video, Ananjan Chakraborty himself acted and played his own character. Riti Chowdhury has played the role of Ananjan’s wife, and Jyotirmoy Roy is the friend of Ananjan and Riti’s later love interest.

Gourav Gupta, has directed the music video. This musical project is produced by Ananjan’s Music Production Student, Samrat, and mixed and mastered by Ananjan himself.
