The teaser and the music launch of the upcoming Bengali film Uraan took place in the presence of the cast and the music team of the film.

Directed by Tridib Raman, the film’s story is about Paulami Banerjee (played by Srabanti) who is a music teacher by profession. She protests against the arsenic laden water which causes trouble for the people. Her beau Romit (played by Shaheb Bhattacharjee) supports and helps her in the cause. What happens next?

“The film is not only about removing arsenic from water but also shows how women can also save people from important issues. I had a great time shooting the film. This is my first film with Shaheb and he is a wonderful co-star. Tridib Raman is a non-Bengali and his passion for Bengali films is worth noticing. I also lip synced to a song sung by Shreya Ghoshal and that was a great experience” said Srabanti.

Shaheb plays the role of a big businessman who owns a chain of hotels. He is a support system of Paulami in the film. The actor felt that the film is very topical given the state of affairs in India. Women are already empowered in India. the film will only showcase that aspect.

The music has been composed by Joy Sarkar. There are seven songs in the film and the songs have been sung by Shreya Ghoshal, Nachiketa, Srikanto Acharya, Kharaj Mukherjee and Moksha band. The lyrics are by Srijato.

“It is very rare in today’s time for a film to have seven songs. All the songs are of different flavours and will surely appeal to the tastes of the audience. The film is based on the issue- arsenic in water. Hence the songs are very important in the film” said Joy Sarkar.

A special performance by Moksha band also mesmerized the audience.

The music is promoted and distributed by Amara Muzik.

The film is presented by Geeta Singh Ramana and produced by NT1 Media Limited.

The film is eyeing for release on 17^th January.
