Art Exhibition The Legacy Of Loss: Perspectives On The Partition Of Bengal Inaugurated

An art exhibition The Legacy of Loss: Perspectives On The Partition of Bengal was inaugurated at Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC) for commemorating Partition Remembrance Day.

Gianluca Rubagotti, Consul general, Italian Republic was the Chief Guest at the inauguration ceremony. Apart from this, the other eminent guests who graced the inauguration were Goutam Ghose, Richa Agarwal, Reena Dewan, Rituparna Roy, and Shuvaprasanna Bhattacharya.

The Partition of Bengal is a scar on the memory of the people of India. With this art exhibition, five contemporary artists have engaged creatively with this Partition of Bengal.

The collaborative exhibition is organized by Kolkata Partition Museum Trust and Kolkata Centre for Creativity and is supported by Tata Steel and Emami Foundation. The exhibition showcases paintings, installations, photographs, prints, and many more.

The five artists who have taken part in this exhibition are Amritah Sen, Debasish Mukherjee, Paula Sengupta, Dilip Mitra, and Vinayak Bhattacharya.

Online talk sessions on 22nd August and 29th August will also be organized. On 22nd August, the session will be Revisiting the legacy of Loss (Session 1) and the panelists will be Vinayak Bhattacharya, Dilip Mitra, Amritah Sen, and Supriyo Sen.

On 29th August, the session will be on Revisiting the Legacy of Loss (Session 2) and the panelists will be Goutam Ghose, Dr. Paula Sengupta, and Debasish Mukherjee.

The exhibition will be open for public viewing till 29th August (except Mondays and national holidays) from 11 am to 6 pm on the 5th floor of Kolkata Centre for Creativity. The entry is by appointment only.
