The press conference for director Tathagata Bhattacherjee’s film Akorik was organized in the presence of the director, producer, cast, and crew of the film.

With this film, Rituparna Sengupta will again be working with Victor Banerjee after Lathi.

Victor Banerjee was part of the director’s debut film Antarghaat as well.

The film shows the bonding of a 75-year-old man who grew up under the traditional joint family system and a 10-year-old boy who lives with his single mother Srijita. The two connect with one another despite coming from different family structures and share a brief but significant journey together.

The film has been shot in Kasauli, and other parts of Himachal Pradesh. Speaking about the shooting experience, Rituparna Sengupta said “I had a great time shooting the film. When we were uncertain as to whether we could shoot a film in Kolkata, we actually went to Himachal Pradesh to shoot a film. It was a mesmerizing experience”.

On asked why she accepted the role of Srijita, the actress said “The way the director presented such a subject attracted me. I have never done such a role before on such a topic. It was unusual and out of the box. As an actress, I felt that I have never explored such a topic before. The characters are often related and often not related. But to bring out a relationship between everyone is what attracted me very much”.

The cast of the film consists of Victor Banerjee, Rituparna Sengupta, Anuradha Roy, Angana Bose, Sudeshna Chakraborty, Supratim Roy,  Jayashree Adhikary, Anindo Sarkar, Abhishek Ganguli, Master Ankan Mallick, Master Swapnadip Adhikary, and others.

Debjit Bera is the music composer of the film. The background music is by Tamal Chakraborty.

The songs of Tagore have been redesigned by Robin Ganguly.

The producer of the film is Ashok Pareek while the associate producer is Deepak Pareek.
