Ather Energy’s First Family Scooter, Rizta, Now In Kolkata
In Kolkata, Ather Energy hosted their “Meet Rizta” event. Ather presented its first smart helmet, Halo, and new family scooter, Rizta, to locals and fans of electric vehicles during the event. The chance to tour Ather’s experience zones and get a personal look at Rizta gave attendees a comprehensive grasp of the brand’s cutting-edge technology and design philosophy.
After launching its first electric scooter in 2018, Ather Energy has been known for its high-performance 450 series scooters, such as the 450X and 450S. With the release of the Rizta, Ather has entered the family two-wheeler market. The organization has more than 200 Experience Centers (ECs) around the country, including four in West Bengal. Furthermore, Ather has installed more than 1900 fast-charging stations nationwide, including more than 27 Ather Grids in West Bengal.
The Rizta is available in two models and three variants: the top-tier Rizta Z model has a 3.7 kWh battery, while the other two models, Rizta S and Z, both have 2.9 kWh batteries. The IDC range of the 2.9 kWh model is 123 km, whilst the 3.7 kWh variant has a range of 159 km. Whereas the Rizta Z comes in seven colors, the Rizta S comes in three monochromatic colors. With families in mind, the Rizta prioritizes simplicity, safety, and comfort. It has one of the biggest and coziest seats available, along with 56L of storage space—which includes a 34L under-seat capacity and a 22L optional trunk accessory—all included. The rider has enough room for their legs on the spacious floorboard.
SkidControl, an exclusive traction control system from Ather, regulates motor torque to keep the Rizta from losing traction on low-friction surfaces like gravel, sand, water, or oil. The Rizta also incorporates other safety features, such as Ping My Scooter, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), FallSafe, and Theft and Tow Detect.
All three models feature two riding modes, Zip and SmartEco, and a top speed of 80 kmph. Additionally, the Rizta has riding assistance features that were initially seen in the 450 series, including MagicTwist, AutoHold, and Reverse Mode. The MagicTwist function gives the rider throttle-twist control over acceleration and deceleration. The scooter is held in place on hills by the AutoHold function, and reversing is simple and requires little effort when using the Reverse Mode.
Ather also unveiled the Halo helmet, a cutting-edge smart helmet featuring Harman Kardon audio. With wireless charging, handlebar controls for calls and music, and unique auto WearDetect technology, it offers a smooth experience. AtherChitChat, a function that enables helmet-to-helmet communication between the rider and pillion, is also included in the Halo helmet. Its modern, streamlined form is available in two color variants.
With Ather’s optional 5-year warranty package, Ather Battery Protect, the battery guarantee is extended to 5 years/60,000 km for all three Rizta models. This package ensures that after five years, the battery health will be at least 70% and covers battery problems.
For charging at home, the Rizta S and Rizta Z with a 2.9 kWh battery come with a 350W Ather portable charger, while the top-end Rizta Z with a 3.7 kWh battery is paired with the new 700W Ather Duo charger.
The AtherRizta S with a 2.9 kWh battery is priced at INR 1,11,469 (ex-showroom Kolkata). The AtherRizta Z with 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh batteries are available at INR 1,26,469 and INR 1,46,469 (ex-showroom Kolkata), respectively.
