The music, poster launch of the upcoming Bengali film Sitara took place recently in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

Sitara is based on the fiction novel Bhorer Proshuti written by eminent author Abul Basher.

The story revolves around Sitara, a poor Bangladeshi housewife who crosses border to enter India illegally with her husband Jiban Sheikh. Her husband sells her to smuggler Kabir. Even her father and brother supported Jiban for his actions. She developed deep hatred for them. With her beauty and charm, she became the queen. But that came at a cost. She became ill. Her husband divorced her. What happens next?

Speaking at the event, Subrat Dutta said “Though I play a political leader, the film does not have any political propaganda that it wants to propagate. It is based on the story and this film marks the debut of M. Nassar in Bengali films. Working with such a great cast was a wonderful experience for me”.

The cast of the film consists of M. Nassar (Kabir Majahan), Raima Sen (Sitara), Subrat Dutta (Manab Sarkar), Meghna Naidu (Laxmana) and others.

The film is directed by Ashis Roy and produced by Siva Prasad Pradhan.

The music of the film is by Kalika Prasad Bhattacharya and Emon Saha. Brishti Lekha Nandini, Rishi and others have lent their voices to the songs in the film. There are four songs in the film.

The film is eyeing for release soon.
