Autism BeAware On Autistic Pride Day To Increase Inclusivity
On the occasion of Autistic Pride Day, Autism BeAware an Initiative by Nirmaan BD Bangur Endowment, recently organized an event at ITC Royal Bengal Kolkata.
A non-profit organization with roots in Kolkata, Nirmaan- B D Bangur Endowment promotes development in rural and urban areas, health, sanitation, education, and autism awareness through the Autism BeAware campaign.
The talk show was moderated by celebrated journalist, Mrs. Mugdha Kalra (the moderator of the event) and she engaged in conversation with four remarkable autistic achievers from different fields. Pranav Bakhshi (Model), Amrit Khurana (Artist), Akshay Bhatnagar (Employee, Rajasthan Secretariat), and Varun R Sawant (Chef & Marathoner) who shared their unique journeys.
Leading academic institutions in Kolkata, autistic institutes, social activists, general schools, families, carers, and medical experts all attended this particular occasion. The objective is to raise awareness, encourage acceptance, and work towards fully integrating people with autism into society.
The event aimed to spread inclusivity and increase understanding of autism. It wanted to create a world where people with disabilities are respected by educating and accepting them. The organizers wanted to implore the government to support their cause by putting up signs and offering those with invisible disabilities preferential transport services.
