Time is of the essence in an emergency. The purpose of the Health Talk was to raise awareness of the importance of being ready for medical crises. It is crucial to promote a basic understanding of medical emergencies among the general public since doing so can help to save lives by preventing harm to the heart, brain, and other key organs. A health checkup camp that included a pulmonary function test, an electrocardiogram, a bone mineral density test, blood pressure monitoring, random blood sugar testing, an eye exam, a weight measurement, and a consultation with a Fortis doctor was also organized for the journalists in addition to the health talk.

Dr. Sanjukta Dutta, Consultant in Emergency Medicine said, “Journalists often work under great stress and tight deadlines, but they play a vital role in influencing society’s perspectives. They may be more susceptible to developing heart disease as a result of this ongoing pressure, inconsistent work schedules, and perhaps difficult fieldwork. For the early detection of any problems and the health of your heart, routine checkups are essential.

She said, “Frequently, people are unable to recognize life-threatening circumstances or are unaware of the critical actions to take in order to react. We must ensure that everyone is aware of the symptoms of different illnesses and how to take immediate action. It can mean the difference between life and death to recognize and respond to symptoms of medical crises like heart attacks, strokes, trauma, respiratory failure, excessive bleeding, and seizures. Increasing awareness of these circumstances”.

This project by Fortis Anandapur is evidence of the spirit of cooperation that promotes a more informed and healthy society. The training gave the media community important life-saving knowledge and health awareness.
