Ayushmann Khurrana Part Of Meta’s Amazing Safety Campaign
To raise awareness of online scams and encourage safer digital activities, Meta launched its safety campaign, “Scams se Bacho”, and teamed up with Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana.
The campaign, which was started in partnership with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), highlights Meta’s dedication to protecting people online and supports the government’s objective of halting the nation’s growing number of scam and cyber fraud cases.
The campaign encourages individuals to remain vigilant and use care before acting by showcasing some of the most prevalent scams they encounter daily. The movie emphasizes how Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp offer a plethora of safety measures that enable users to take charge of their online security.
Ayushmann Khurrana plays a watchful wedding guest in the movie who comes across folks who are about to become victims of scams and saves the day with his quick wit and sense of humor. Emphasizing WhatsApp’s group privacy settings, two-factor authentication, and Block and Report, the campaign serves as a reminder of how Meta’s built-in product features and safety measures give users the protection they need to fend off online scammers.
“With the widespread rise in online scams and frauds that can occasionally appear very convincing, it’s imperative that we remain vigilant and educate ourselves about how to stay safe in today’s digital landscape. Being a part of Meta’s safety program, which attempts to raise awareness about how individuals may protect themselves from potential cyber scams, makes me very happy. It serves as a crucial reminder to exercise caution before acting and to make use of Meta’s available safety tools, which provide you the ability to take charge of your online security” said Ayushmann Khurrana.
The campaign illustrates how Meta’s straightforward yet powerful security features can protect people from online scams and frauds by showcasing a variety of scams, including trading and investment scams that promise irrational returns, impersonation scams that use urgency to trick people into giving them money, OTP scams that compromise personal accounts and private information, and fraudulent loan apps and offers.
