According to the Puran, on the call of Bhagiratha, river Ganges came to the Earth. The Ganges has been a life giver and at times has also flooded many areas leading to the rise of many new areas. A dip in the Ganges is said to get you rid of any kind of sins that you may have committed.

However in modern times, a dip in the Ganges is not enough. Men are now devoid of qualities like fraternity and humanity. Here lies the need for another Bhagiratha who will bring forth a new life force which will rid the people from such negative vibes.

This was the thought behind Baghajatin Tarun Sangha’s Durga Puja this year.

The Puja was inaugurated by actress Priyanka Sarkar and Minister Arup Biswas.
