Barun Chanda To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award At IKSFF 2023
The third edition of the International Kolkata Short Film Festival (IKSFF 2023) was announced in the presence of Jaya Seal Ghosh, Arghya Kamal Mitra, Nabarun Bose, Mallar Ghosh, and other eminent guests.
150 plus Short films from 20 countries have been submitted for the festival.80 short films will be screened online.
Some of the films that will be screened at the festival include Zuni starring Divya Dutta, Gray starring Dia Mirza, First Second Choice starring Renuka Sahani and Anant Mahadevan, Bodhon starring Rwitobroto Mukherjee and Aishwarya Sen, Poila Boishak starring Phalguni Chatterjee and many more.
Speaking at the press conference, Jaya Seal Ghosh said “I am glad that I am associated with the short film festival as an advisor. The Green Window by Indira Dhar Mukherjee in which I acted was shown in the previous edition of the short film festival. Not many people think about short filmmakers or short films. This is a great initiative and must be applauded”.
Eminent film director Jalaladdin Gasimov from Azerbijan is among the juries for this upcoming short film festival.
The award ceremony at the festival will begin with Mirror Mirror. It is one of the seven stories in India’s first shot-on-phone web series Seventh. The film has been directed by Arnab Ringo Banerjee. The closing film at the festival is Masterpiece from Hungary.
The festival will start on 10th January and will end with an award ceremony on 15th January.
The Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to eminent actor Barun Chanda.
The different award categories are Best short film, Best Director, Best music video, Best Editor, Best child actor, Best documentary film, Best DOP, Best environmental short film, and many more.
