Basanta Utsav-The Festival of Colours Organized; Amazing Dance and Musical Performances at The Event
Basanta Utsav – The Festival of Colours was jointly organised by Association of Tourism Service Providers of Bengal and P.C. Chandra Garden, in association with India Tourism, Kolkata (Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India). The event was organized just a few days before Holi at The Maple Lawn of P.C. Chandra Garden, Kolkata.
The event was inaugurated by Sujit Bose, Hon’ble Minister, Govt. of West Bengal. Madan Agarwal (ATSPB) President, Abhijeet Dhar (Madhya Pradesh Tourism) and Hinglag Dan Rathoo (Rajasthan Tourism) were the Hon’ble Chief Guests for the event.
Almost 200 artists performed at the event. The programme began with a colorful procession of artists – singing, dancing and playing musical instruments as well as Dandia with the Tagore song “Ore Grihabashi” like Basanta Utsav in Santiniketan.
On the main stage, Dohar presented Tagore Songs as well as Songs of the Soil of undivided Bengal and North East with ethnic traditional folk musical instruments. Most of the songs were presented along with Dance performance. Group Sreekhol Baadan & Classical Dance forms like Manipuri and Odissi Dance was also staged at the event. Famous Pung (Manipuri Khol) artist Ratan Singh from Manipur presented a special performance.
The artists from Srabani Sen Music Academy also presented a few Rabindra Sangeet songs.
