Bengal Christian Council Thanks Bengal CM For Her Great Role
The CM-Bengal Christian Council is grateful to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Smt. Mamata Bandopadhyay, for her proactive and watchful role in preserving the centuries-old Bengali ethos and traditions in the true spirit of Unity in Diversity, which calls for the peaceful coexistence of all people in West Bengal regardless of caste, creed, color, religion, gender, or social status while upholding the sanctity and dignity of the Indian Constitution despite numerous obstacles and resistance.
Despite the aforementioned Minority Status and Notification, the Bengal Christian Council humbly requests that the Hon. Chief Minister of West Bengal investigate the serious difficulties that the Heads of Institutions of the Christian Missionary Schools have been dealing with for a considerable amount of time in the DI Office, Kolkata.
For reasons best known to the DI of Schools, Kolkata, matters about the routine clearances of teaching and non-teaching staff are frequently greeted with delays, indifference, justifications, and a lack of basic decency. Even though the schools still provide all the required documents, whenever and whatever is requested, this harassment goes unchecked, leaving the Heads of Institutions and Teaching Staff who frequently visit the DI Office in Kasba Bosepukur, Kolkata, feeling completely frustrated, powerless, and depressed. They had to petition the court several times to obtain the aforementioned approvals and to demonstrate our minority rights.
In keeping with the schools’ centuries-old heritage and customs, each Missionary School has its unique dress code. These schools are excluded from the Government Dress Code, but they have yet to receive the uniform grant after two reminders and a letter dated May 5, 2022, submitted to the Principal Secretary and School Education Department, and reminders on
All of the missionary institutions applied to the Government of West Bengal for the issuance of a no-objection certificate to assist them in making the required preparations for affiliation with CISCE, New Delhi, as a result of all of these factors, which have left them deeply frustrated.
Some self-styled bishops have proliferated in recent years, but their backgrounds, affiliations, and legitimacy are all questionable. Such self-styled bishops are not recognized by the Bengal Christian Council or its affiliates. Through their actions and statements, these so-called bishops are doing all in their power to mislead the authorities and Christians.
The Heritage Commission has designated educational institutions and some churches in Kolkata and West Bengal as heritage sites. There is never any notification of such a declaration. In retrospect, such announcements may appear to give such historic structures a sense of importance and glitz, but they accomplish nothing.
The BCC Peace and Unity Rally 2025 will cover all these aspects.
The rally will take place on 20th January.
