Mahul Abrittir Band is Bengal’s first recital band. In 2005, Shanoli founded a poetry band entirely on her own initiative, at a time when everyone thought a band could only play music. The idea of fusing poetry and music was unheard of previously.

The performance of Mahul’s reciting group demonstrated that poetry is not just successful in Bengali but also around the country among Bengalis. Shanoli and other Mahul members were spotted on this day getting ready for their impending rehearsals at a filming location near Salt Lake.

Shanoli Majumdar was on vocals. The original concept and presentation were also done by her.

She was accompanied by Satyajith (synthesizer), Chinmoy (drums), Shubham (percussion), Devdeep (guitar), Shubjit (bass guitar), Sabyasachi (sound and backing vocals), and Kinjal (back vocals).
