Taalpatar Shepai, a well-known Bengali band, recorded the song Chena Ghor for Tathagata Mukherjee’s upcoming family drama ‘RAAS‘. The melody will be portrayed by the lead actors, Vikram and Devlina Kumar, who are on a journey of self-discovery while recalling their childhood memories.

The song appears in the film when Somnath (Vikram) returns to his ancestral home after an 18-year absence, and his childhood love, Rai (Devlina), takes him on a tour of Manikpur. This is when the young man, Somnath, realizes the value of a simple rural life in which he only lives for himself, surrounded by peaceful nature. The rustic lanes filled with his childhood memories, the village playgrounds where they had spent countless beautiful evenings, and the farmlands that he used to explore with his close friends all helped him understand the dark reality of urban life, where liberty, bonding, and attachments are valued less than money and luxury.

The song Chena Ghor is sung by Pritam Das. Kritee Roy has penned the lyrics. The song is composed by Suman Ghosh and Pritam Das. The music arrangement is done by Taalpatar Shepai.

Apart from Vikram Chatterjee and Devlina Kumar, the cast of the film also consists of Anirban Chakrabarty as Dwipayan, Anasuya Majumder as Alakananda, Shankar Debnath as Sukanta, Arna Mukhopaddhay as Raktim, Ranojoy as Soumik, Parijat Chaudhuri as Sanjh, Debasish as Bhombol Da, Sudip Mukherjee as Rajat, Debaprasad Halder as Prem Kumar and Apratim Chatterjee as Biswajit amongst others.

Tathagata Mukherjee wrote the story of RAAS.

A great film to look out for.
