Bharat Sevashram Sangha Distributes Free Books To Underprivileged Students
The Bharat Sevashram Sangha gave away free books and study aids to pupils up to Class 4 at over 42 schools in the isolated and impoverished Sundarbans as part of a new school year effort.
The Bharat Sevashram Sangha’s Principal Secretary, Swami Bishwatmanand Maharaj, highlighted the group’s continuous efforts to promote education and rural economic development during an event held at the organization’s headquarters in Ballygunge, Kolkata. He emphasized their scientific approach to programs like free medical care, fish farming self-reliance training, and the development of animal resources.
Students from areas like Gangasagar, Basanti, Gosaba, Kulpi, Mandir Bazar, and Maipith in Kultali were also eligible for this support. Teachers from the beneficiary schools also participated in the distribution event.
This program was also supported by the nonprofit Joy Foundation, which was represented at the ceremony by Utpal Dhar.
A noble initiative at the start of the year.
