Bhaswar Chatterjee & Debleena Dutt Honored With ISFFA Icon Award 2023
Indian International Short Film Festival Awards (ISFFA) 2023 was organized for the third time. This is the initiative of Dreams Cultural Association.
The Indian International Short Film Festival Awards was a two-day affair. On 14th March, the festival was organized at Surya Sen Mancha.
On 15th March, the award ceremony was organized at Rabindra Okakura Bhaban.
The eminent guests at the award ceremony included Dibyendu Barua (Chess Grandmaster), Nirmal Chakravarty (Director), Mrs. Shyamshree Roy Choudhury (Founder- S.S. Foundation, Producer and Director), and many more.
More than 300 short films from different parts of the world took part in this competition. There were 40 segments for which 180 films were nominated. Out of this, 160 awards were presented at this festival.
The jury panel consisted of twelve eminent names from India and different parts of the world.
Bhaswar Chatterjee and Debleena Dutt were awarded the ISFFA Icon Award 2023.
Speaking at the event, Bhaswar Chatterjee said “I am thankful to the organizers for inviting me to this event. I have known the organizers for the last few months. I have worked with Debleena for many years. We started our acting journey together. To get the award together with her is a great feeling”.
Debleena Dutt said “The Oscars this year proved that there is much that can be achieved with the help of short films. Short films are made in huge numbers in this part of India. And with the proper platforms, the directors will be able to showcase their skills. And who knows that the next Oscar will be received by someone from India again”.
Abhijit Chakraborty and Jaydeb das performed at the event.
Sharmistha Kundu mesmerized the audience with her singing and Indranil Mukherjee showed off his skills with the talking doll.
