Since 2013, the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal had introduced the Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman Awards to motivate, acknowledge and duly recognize the best puja(s) and their creators in urban and rural Bengal.

Bhowanipur 75 Palli Durga Puja received Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman Awards for Sera Covid Sachetanata (Swasthyabidhi). This Puja is among the leading Durga Pujas organized in South Kolkata. In 2021, the theme for their Durga Puja is Manobik.

The Bhowanipur 75 Palli puja committee decided to come to the aid of ”Chhau” artists of Purulia district, who were badly hit by the lockdown.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Subir Das, Club Secretary said that they dedicated this award to kids and family members of Chhau artists in Purulia. They donated a major share of the subscription. They also have donated clothes to kids of 250 Chhau Dancers in association with Max and Arihant Enterprises on the occasion of World Daughter’s Day at Charida Village in Purulia.
