To help animals and birds, Climate Warrior Bhumi Pednekar constructed several water bowls throughout Mumbai. Touched by the suffering of animals and birds who struggle to survive the summer, Bhumi launched a commendable project via her non-profit advocacy platform, The Bhumi Foundation, to provide water bowls filled with safe drinking water for them.

Bhumi said, “Since 2019, we’ve been aiming for a variety of on-the-ground action work. In many respects, Climate Warrior is my passion endeavor”.

She said, “We are placing water bowls today. Additionally, there is a crew of workers who will be routinely replenishing these water bowls. So, even if you don’t feel like it, fill up those water bowls for our four-legged companions whenever you see something like this and you have water. Right now, it’s really hot. Furthermore, in this heat, our stray animals on the roads don’t have access to water. We are only attempting to somewhat alleviate that for them”.

Water bowls were positioned in Bhumi’s neighborhood by her team and a few volunteers, and she has gathered volunteers to do the same throughout the city.

A great initiative indeed.
