Janab Firhad Hakim, Hon’ble Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Govt. of West Bengal & Mayor of Kolkata and Ms Chandrima Bhattacharya, Hon’ble Minister of State for Health, Health and Family Welfare, Land and Land Reforms & Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation, Personnel and Administrative Reforms & e-Governance, Government of West Bengal jointly inaugurated Bengal Infertility and Reproductive Therapy Hospital (BIRTH)’s Clinic at Salt Lake and also laid the foundation stone for the upcoming BIRTH Hospital.

A host of dignitaries were present on the occasion that included Mr Amitabh Singh, Post Master General, Kolkata Region, Mr Debasish Jana, Member, Mayor In Council, Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation , Mrs Krishna Chakraborty,Councilor, Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation, Mrs PrithaSarkar,Commissioner, Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation, Dr SantanuSen,National President, Indian Medical Association, Dr NirmalMaji, President, West Bengal Medical Council, and Dr GautamKhastgir, Director, BIRTH Fertility Clinic.

The occasion, which marked the the 12th anniversary of BIRTH, also witnessed the inauguration of a Nurse’s Training Centre. Dr Gautam Khastgir’s new book ‘Pregnancy Care’ was also launched for the occasion by Ms Chandrima Bhattacharya. “Pregnancy Care” is an educative book that highlights the care and preventive measures that a woman should undertake during pregnancy.

A special stamp and first day cover was released by Mr Amitabh Singh, Post Master General, Kolkata Region to mark the occasion.
