“Blue Souls Festivals” presented by DWish was organized recently.

The motto of this festival was to empower the specially-abled persons by providing them a platform for enhancing their inner abilities, grooming them for the future, and including them in the mainstream.

Sumitra Pal Bakshi, Director, DWish said “Society still cannot realize that differently-abled people can be included in the mainstream activities by training them properly. They might have the talent and confidence to walk the ramp or perform a song or a dance with other individuals. With this event, we are showcasing that these individuals have the talent to be included in the mainstream”.

Kanti Ganguli, Dr. Mallika Banerjee, Dr. Lina Bardhan, Madhumita Dasgupta (Coordinator at IICP), Arpita Sarkar (Author), Dr. Pubali Chaudhuri (Neuro Psychiatrist), Arjunn Dutta (Director), Anuvab Kanjilal (Actor), Gulsahnara Khatun (Actor), Sumitra Pal Bakshi (Director, DWish), Bahni Bhattacharya (DWish, Co-founder), Raktim Goswami & Sumana Nag (Founders, Lady Monk Entertainment) were present at the event.

Anubhav Kanjilal said “We all are disabled in some way. With this initiative, the differently-abled kids will be able to feel themselves being a part of the mainstream and also showcase their talents to society. We have all forgotten the difference between sympathy and empathy and this will help us to remember it. A great initiative indeed!!”

Arjunn Dutta said “Empathy and inclusion are the two words that are my take-away from this event. I am honored and humbled to be a part of this initiative. We should all grow together as a society. That should be our aim”.
