The Bohurupi Mask launch took place at an exhibition by Sharmi’s Art Beyond Tradition. This is in line with the Bengali film Bohurupi slated for release soon.

The teaser was also launched on the same day.

Gracing the occasion was director duo Nandita Roy, Shiboprosad Mukherjee, Bohurupi artist Nonichora Das Baul and others.

Shiboprosad Mukherjee said “I have been to Sharmi di’s mask exhibition before. It is well recognized. Not many people work with masks. We got connected with Sharmi di for the Bohurupi masks. I asked her to make the masks on an emergency level. She did that and these masks will be seen in the film. When the film is released, the audience will be able to see the importance of the masks. I am grateful that she could make the masks on such short notice”.

Nonichora Das Baul has sung in the film. He is the first Bohurupi artist to have done a playback for a film.

Speaking at the event, Nandita Roy said “The film is very special for us. As the release day is approaching, we are excited to see how the audience reacts to the film. We hope to receive the same level of love and adulation as our earlier films received”.

The film will be released during the upcoming Durga Puja.
