Book Launch Of Electronic Waste- A Growing Concern In Environment
Dr. Swati Chakraborty (Nandi), Head of the Department at Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (GNIPST), launched her new book ‘Electronic Waste – A Growing Concern In Environment’ in the presence of Dr. Kalyan Rudra, Chairman of West Bengal Pollution Control Board; Mr. Sandipan Saha, Mayor-in-Council of Kolkata Municipal Corporation; Mr. Dipendu Biswas, Technical Director of the I-League Mohammedan Sporting Club; Prof Omprakash Mishra, Prof. of International Relations, Jadavpur University; and Poet-Mass Movement activist Mr. Prasun Bhowmik.
Dr. Swati Chakraborty (Nandi) is an environmentalist and researcher with expertise in sustainable development, e-waste management, health risk assessment, carbon footprint, waste management, and Life Cycle Assessment. Swati, who also writes a regular column for a number of English and regional daily newspapers, has been collaborating with a number of governmental and non-governmental organizations to provide research and consulting support on a variety of issues related to her primary field of work.
“My book is full of information that reveals the geographies of e-waste flow of distribution at global, national, subnational, and local levels. This resource will provide users with a detailed presentation of e-waste estimation methods, quantification, and model survey, as well as information on how to handle e-waste and its hazardous effects on the environment” Dr. Swati said of her newly released book.
