With themed restaurants coming up in Kolkata, the restaurant owners are now coming up with themes to suit the tastes of the customers. Potboiler Coffee House is a book-themed cafe located in Kolkata.

Based on the concept of stories and escapism, the cafe is founded by a coffee-enthusiast Sonali Lakhotia.

This 45 seater cafe is located at 92/1B Purna Das Road, 2nd floor (Simaaya building), and is open from 8 am to 11 pm, serving breakfast options as well. There are books for all age groups and board games to keep you busy with. The special part about Potboiler is a book exchange cupboard, where guests can donate and/or pick up books from. Even the menu card is designed like Literature classic book covers.

The food and beverage names are inspired by books and literary characters. Like Espresso Patronum and Butterbeer Latte (after Harry Potter series), Sun Also Rises (Earnest Hemingway), Alice’s Adevntures in Wonderland and Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory are some of the beverages. There’s Breakfast of Hobbits and Mad Hatter’s Party Treat and more.
