A film from Myanmar titled Broken Dreams Stories From The Myanmar Coup was screened at the 29^th Kolkata International Film Festival.

The director of the film is Ninefold Mosaic. Ninefold Mosaic is a group of nine Myanmar directors. They have risked everything to protest against the military junta. The members of the group are Nay Ni Hlaing Kha, Yit, Rek, M. Noe, Way, Nay Chi Myat Now Wint, L Min Pyae Mon, and Bo Thet Htun.

The story starts two years after the military coup in Myanmar. The country is in a state of civil war. The junta carries out extrajudicial killings and also seizes the property of activists and their families. Several activists have fled the country or have joined the resistance armed groups. The film consists of nine short films by eight exiled directors.

The film shows the viewpoints of the ordinary people of Myanmar who are caught in such a situation.

The producer is Myat Noe.

The music has been composed by Lin Htet and Lynn Lynn.

The 128-minute-long film was part of the Asian Select (NETPAC) segment.
