Cake-Mixing Ceremony At Traffic Gastropub Kicks Off The Holiday Season
Traffic Gastropub, located in Rajarhat Newtown on the second level of City Centre 2, is constantly at the forefront of organizing spectacular events, opulent galas, and fun festivals in Kolkata.
At Traffic, Christmas arrived early this year as they joyfully celebrated their annual cake-mixing ceremony. The cake-mixing ceremony officially kicks off the holiday season, so the gastropub decided to start the celebrations early.
Both hotel personnel and visitors donned their aprons and got their hands dirty in a jovial mingling of dried fruits, nuts, and spirits. Before the chefs and other staff members began mixing the ingredients for the cake, the guests were given aprons and gloves to wear. The ingredients included about 7 kg of loose cherries, 5 kg of raisins, 5 kg of broken cashews, 6 kg of roasted cashews, about 27 kg of tutti frutti, and 7 kg of “murabba.” The procedure started with the alcohol being poured in and the dried fruit mixture being tossed with hands. The concoction also contained 2 bottles of black rum, 2 bottles of whiskey, 4 bottles of red wine, and 4 bottles of vodka.
Beautiful holiday decorations and excellent music enhanced the program’s sense of community. The amazing cooks at Traffic then served a delectable meal to round out the celebrations with the ideal balance of cheer and holiday spirit.
