For the first time in her career, actress Rituparna Sengupta acted in a double role in a Bengali film titled Limelight. The premiere of the film was held recently in Kolkata in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.

The film is directed by Reshmi Mitra and produced by Dhanbad Talkies’. Rajessh Singh is presenting the film.

The story narrates the story of Archana, a not so good looking lady who works as a junior artist in Bengali films. She is from lower middle class family background and her family depends on her income. Archana treats superstar Srimoyee Sen as her idol. They have a few similarities in their looks though. Srimoyee meets with an accident and her face and other body parts is severely affected by the accident. Doctor informs her that it will take her a year to recover. To retain her status in the industry, she manages to sway Archana to live her life for a year in return for a huge amount of money.

Srimoyee goes to USA for her treatments. Archana faces hardship to adjust to her life. When serial actor Ayanjeet expresses his love for her, she begins to think of herself as Srimoyee. A relationship develops. The real Srimoyee returns. What happens next?

The cast of the film consists of Rituparna Sengupta, Sreela Majumder, Sumitro Banerjee and Arjun Chakraborty.

The story of the film is by Reshmi Mitra. The screenplay and dialogues is by Paramita Munshi.

The lyrics and music of the film have been composed by Anwesha and Sunidhi Chauhan, Anwesha and Javed Ali have sung the songs in the film. There are four songs in the film.

The film is running at different halls and multiplexes in the city.
