Cast and Crew Grace Premiere of Bengali Film Sraboner Dhara
The premiere of director duo Abhijit Guha- Sudeshna Roy’s Bengali film Sraboner Dhara took place recently in the presence of the director duo, Gargee Roychowdhury, Basabdatta Chatterjee, Jayati Chakraborty and others.
The film revolves around the lives of three people namely Neelabho Roy, a successful neuro-physician at a corporate hospital, his patient Dr Amitava Sarkar, a noted historian who is slowly losing his memory to Alzheimer’s disease and his wife Shubha. How they deal with their individual identity crisis is what the film all about.
Director Sudeshna Roy said “Alzheimer’s is simply the backdrop around which the lives of the characters revolve. This is essentially a story of relationships and identity crisis of the three main characters in the film namely Neelabho, Amitava and Shubha”.
Parambrata Chatterjee plays the role of Neelabho while Soumitra Chatterjee will be seen in the role of his patient and Gargee Roychowdhury will be seen as Shubha. Basabdatta will be seen in the role of Neelabho’s estranged wife.
Speaking at the premiere, Basabdatta said “I am thrilled and excited that the film has finally released in Kolkata. This is a story of relationships and the story of memory loss to Alzheimer’s is an event that is happening in almost every family. I think the audience will be able to relate with the issue”.
The music of the film is by Aashu-Abhishek. There are three songs in the film. The songs have been sung by Rupankar, Iman and Jayati Chakraborty.
The film is running at different single screens and multiplexes in the city.
